3 WWE Superstars who impressed this week, and 2 that didn't

It was another newsworthy and intriguing week of WWE action. The superstars of WWE had a busy week as both RAW and SmackDown took part in an overseas tour in the United Kingdom. The SmackDown roster wrapped up their side of the tour on Wednesday and headed to Norfolk, VA. The weekend prior, via Twitter, WWE revealed the teams for both the RAW and SmackDown men and women's 5-on-5 elimination matches at Survivor Series. It was the company's first real step at promoting the event, which is just a matter of days away.

As always, there were some stand out performers, and also some who didn't impress the WWE. Let's take a look at three WWE Superstars who impressed this week, and two that didn't:

#3 Impressed - Aliyah makes a name for herself during her in-ring debut on WWE SmackDown

Aliyah's journey to WWE's main roster has finally happened. She was drafted to SmackDown in the 2021 WWE Draft, and the WWE Universe were waiting to see which direction she would go in. Aliyah appeared in a backstage segment last week, involving Jeff Hardy and Sami Zayn, but this week, we finally got to see her in action.

The SmackDown women's team for the traditional 5-on-5 elimination RAW vs. SmackDown match was revealed at the weekend. Aliyah was surprisingly named alongside team captain Sasha Banks, Shotzi, Shayna Baszler and Natalya on the blue brand's team.

WWE official Sonya Deville introduced the team to kick-off the show, but her current rival Naomi was unhappy at not being named. It resulted in a brawl between the team members, and a subsequent six-woman tag team match was made.

In a surprising twist, it was Aliyah and her team of Sasha Banks and Naomi who picked up the victory, but it was the Canadian-born superstar who scored the pinfall. It capped off an impressive display in-front of the WWE Universe as she looks to step-up and become a serious player on the SmackDown roster.

Sadly, after the match was over, Sonya Deville immediately removed Aliyah from the SmackDown Survivor Series team, much to the disappointment of the WWE fans in attendance. Hopefully, in due course, we will see more of Aliyah shine, and who knows, somehow get her spot back on the team for Survivor Series.

#2 Unimpressive - Roman Reigns and The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown

This week's WWE SmackDown was main-evented by Universal Champion Roman Reigns taking on King Woods. A stipulation had been made prior to the match that if Reigns had lost the match, he would kneel down for the King, and also relinquish the Universal Championship.

Of course, The Uso's lost to Woods and Sir Kofi Kingston a couple of weeks ago, so the omens were not in favor of The Bloodline. King Woods came so close to defeating the Head of the Table, only for The Uso's to interfere and the match to end in a no-contest.

After the match, Jimmy and Jey Uso crowned The Tribal Chief with Woods' crown despite the match not resulting in a winner. The main event once again showed that The Bloodline has some work to do to get back on track in the ring.

#2 Impressive - Bobby Lashley returned on WWE RAW and claimed a spot on the men's Survivor Series team

It was the return of The All Mighty this week on RAW. After being absent from television following his clash with Goldberg at Crown Jewel, Lashley was eager to get back on course. WWE official Adam Pearce gave him somewhat of an assist.

Dominik Mysterio had initially been named on Team RAW for Survivor Series, but Pearce felt regret in awarding him the spot. Instead, he told Dominik he had to earn it by defeating Bobby Lashley. Lashley dominated, won the match and secured his place on Team RAW at Survivor Series.

There was a return for MVP following his absence from television due to undergoing surgery. He accompanied Lashley once again and roared him onto victory.

#1 Unimpressive - Kevin Owens turns on WWE RAW

Kevin Owens moved to RAW in the 2021 WWE Draft and it appears that he wasn't going to make friends. Last week, he ticked off WWE Champion Big E following some shenanigans involving Seth Rollins in their match.

Owens got his hands on Rollins this week, but thanks to Big E, Kevin Owens was counted out of his match, thus losing to The Visionary. Kevin Owens was not impressed and attacked Big E, delivering a powerbomb onto the apron, something which Owens has done in the past to signify he's found his dark side once again.

#1 Impressive - Liv Morgan becomes No.1 Contender for the RAW Women's Championship

Liv Morgan's stock just keeps on rising. This week on RAW she was pitted against four other superstars in a Fatal 5-Way match to determine the next challenger for Becky Lynch's RAW Women's Title. It wasn't going to be easy, as she had to get through Bianca Belair, Queen Zelina, Carmella and Rhea Ripley.

Overcoming the odds, Liv pinned Carmella to earn one of the biggest opportunities of her career. Morgan wasted little time and went straight over to Lynch, who was on commentary, who had a staredown, to signify she meant business.
