BREAKING: WWE Makes Major Move After Baron Corbin SmackDown Return

  hollywood

Baron Corbin made his return to WWE on the latest edition of SmackDown and made his presence felt during a match. The 41-year-old made his intentions clear about which title he has his eyes on.

During the non-title match between United States Champion Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes on the latest edition of the blue brand, Baron Corbin made a surprise return to the promotion. He attacked both competitors and left them in a heap with his End of Days finisher. He then picked up the title and dropped it on Williams, who lay motionless.

Baron Corbin had previously departed from the Stamford-based company in November 2014 after his contract expired, ending his 12-year tenure. Meanwhile, on the day of his return, WWE filed for a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name 'The Nomad.' Fightful has reported that the trademark is for Corbin.

The filing with the USPTO states as under:

IC 041: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.

Therefore, it is likely that the former United States Champion could be rebranded as The Nomad going forward, or it could become his official nickname in the promotion.

Since leaving WWE in 2014, Corbin competed in the independent circuit under the ring name Bishop Dyer. During that time, he held the RXV National Championship and the MLW World Tag Team Championship alongside former superstar Donovan Dijak.

WWE Has Released New Merchandise For Baron Corbin

In the weeks leading up to his WWE return, there was a significant amount of chatter on the internet about Baron Corbin's possible WWE comeback. Speculations that he downplayed at the time.

However, he has now firmly established himself as a contender for the United States Title with his antics. Something which is sure to displease the other contenders, Ricky Saints, and Carmelo Hayes, with whom he has history in NXT, and of course the champion himself, Trick Williams.

WWE has already released new merchandise for the returning superstar, and it has the name 'Nomad' printed along with his name, Baron Corbin.

Only time will tell what is next for the 41-year-old in the weeks ahead.
