As former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas rightfully points out, it's hard to elevate someone who is arguably the best in the game, but that's exactly what WWE is likely to do with Drew McIntyre who WWE wants to use to elevate Roman Reigns before WrestleMania.

While Reigns would be the kind of WWE Superstar normally used to help bring others up to his main event level, every once and a while the company needs an established star to help keep the champion on top and busy until the really big, marquee opponent comes along. Jimmy Korderas sat down with WrestlingInc. to talk a number of topics and among them was who might be next in line to face Reigns.

With Brock Lesnar on an indefinite suspension and having been fined $1 million dollars by WWE official Adam Pearce, the plan seems to be to bring back Lesnar in time for WrestleMania. That leaves Reigns without much of an adversary until the flagship pay-per-view. Korderas believes McIntyre will be used to keep Reigns busy with a worthy opponent and help fill storylines until the Lesnar vs. Reigns rematch is likely made official.

When asked how WWE will fill time until WrestleMania, Korderas said, "there is a way to get Drew over without him going over against Roman Reigns." He added, "He kind of feels sorry for Drew in some respect because he was pinned as the guy." He then hinted that McIntyre's role will now be to help elevate Reigns, even if elevate feels like the wrong word to use at this point in his career.

Can McIntyre Afford Another Big Loss?

It's a good spot to be in for almost anyone, but for McIntyre, another big loss for Drew could hurt his standing in WWE. He was considered the next possible face of WWE and over the past year seems to lose every big feud he's put in. Another loss to Reigns feels like it could be detrimental. Time will tell and maybe Drew will get a few key matches prior to his rivalry kicking off with Reigns to make sure he comes into that battle on a winning note.
